Toby's writing

Toby is learning to add more information to his stories.

In the weekend I was playing hockey at Papatoetoe and in my team is Bruno, Maz, Baden, Sam, Olivia, Kezia and Hamish. We lost 6-1 although last week we bet them 4-3.

After that we went to Manukau and had boneless chicken curry. I shared it with my sister. Then we went to grandma's house in Buckland.

Then we went to Buckland school and played basketball. And me and my sister stayed the night. The next day my mum and dad picked us up.

Baden's writing

Baden is working on using interesting vocab in his stories.

There once lived a man called Dr Wazle, he was a scientist. He loves his inventions like the robot fly. His favourite animal is the fly. This scientist has bright orange hair that's an Afro. Ever since he was little he wanted to be the best scientist in the world. He wanted to invent a teleported so he could go to any destinations in the world like California, he loved that place. So he started to make a teleported. There was winding, screwing, and hammering. "Finally done," he said to himself. He turned it on and walked into it and when he came out he was a goofy looking fly!

A husky lives in the snow they sometimes suffer in the hot weather.
They use huskies to pull sleds. Huskies eat meat.

Narratives

We have been writing narratives using a dice to choose the character, setting and plot. The objective of our task was to use interesting descriptive vocab and phrases in our stories.

Here is the beginning of Grace's narrative:

Once upon a time, thousands and millions of years ago there was a town. The town was called Cyclopsia. The town was thousands of years before dinosaurs. Cyclopsia was the town where two headed cyclops lived. No family talked much in Cyclopsia.

There was one especially quiet family, a good family, unlike all the other fierce monsters of Cyclopsia.

This family lived in a hidden cave. The cave had a large comfy couch and a kitchen smelling of freshly picked berries. The family was very happy in the cave. No one knew they lived here..........

Pigs

Lucia has written a report on a chosen animal. She was learning to structure a report and use interesting vocab to describe where it lived and what it looked like.

PIGS

Pigs are warm blooded animals that live on land. They can be pets and they can also be wild animals. Read on to find out more about pigs.

What they look like: Pigs can be a lot of colours, black, brown and pink. Most pigs are fat. They've got a cylinder shaped head, long fat body, short stubby legs and a curly little tail. They can sound like a big snort or a high pitched squeak.

How they survive in the wild: pigs survive by sleeping on the ground, drinking from lakes and feeding on dead animals or scraps.

Where it lives: Pigs live in warm atmospheres. Of its a pet they might live in a pen or kennel. They live in most parts of the world depending on the areas.

What it does: Pigs produce milk and have babies. If you kill them they give you bacon, ham and pork to eat.

Pigs are friendly and loving animals who are quite interesting and therefore pigs can be quite good pets. Even though they are a handful they are really awesome!
