How the spotted kiwi lost its wings, by Charlie

We were learning to retell a myth in our own words. Our success criteria was:
  • use punctuation
  • have an introduction, body and conclusion
  • use adjectives
  • use paragraphs
  • use past tense

How the spotted kiwi lost its wings

One day there was a kiwi that slept in the day and in the night it hunted for worms and insects.

This kiwi had a wonderful family. He had two other  and a mum and dad. They were all brown spotted kiwis.

The next night the kiwi  went out for a worm hunt and saw one little juicy worm in a really open area, and then two ferrets arrived and the kiwi saw them and ran and ran and ran until he ran out  of energy and the kiwi caught up to him and bit his wings off. After that his spotted family came and scared both of the ferrets away and the kiwi was not happy at  all.

That is how the kiwi lots its wings and he never went out hunting for worms and insect without his family ever again
