Kaiya's myth

We were learning to retell a myth in our own words. Our success criteria was:
  • use punctuation
  • have an introduction, body and conclusion
  • use adjectives
  • use paragraphs
  • use past tense

How the white kiwi lost its wings

One day tanemahuta comes and ask the birds in the sky who will come down to live on the forest floor and look after my children?

And one by one tanemahuta  asked the birds of the sky this Question who will come down to live on the forest floor

Tui will you come down to live on the forest floor?

Tui  looked up ; no i don't wont  to leave the sunny spot up in the tree.

Pukeko ,will you come and live on the forest floor.

Pukeko looked down no i don't want to get my feet wet and muddy.

Pipiwharauroa will you come down and live on the forest floor.

Pipiwharauroa said no thank you.

Tanemahuta thought there was no other bird left. but just then kiwi came out of of the berry bush and said i will come down and live on the forest floor

So Tanemahutas family lived happily ever after.and so did kiwi on the forest floor and that was the tale of of how the whit kiwi lost its wings

by Kaiya Kidd.
