Joe's myth

We were learning to retell a myth in our own words. Our success criteria was:
  • use punctuation
  • have an introduction, body and conclusion
  • use adjectives
  • use paragraphs
  • use past tense

One day in the forest Tanemahuta looked up to his children he noticed that bugs were eating them.

He asked his brother Tanehokahoka  who called his children the birds of the air.

Tanemahuta talked and talked about how is children were being eaten and told them to come down. He asked tui tui said he didnt like the dark so said no.

The next day Tanehokahoka asked Pukeko will you come down to the forest floor Pukeko saw the cold damp earth and said its to damp i dont want to get my feet wet sorry but no.

Then he turned to kiwi the last of them will you come down from the forest roof. Kiwi looked up at the trees then looked around and saw his family and said yol i will.

And now today the kiwi is one of the best birds in the whole world

  2. What a great retelling of a myth, Joe. I like how you grouped your ideas into short paragraphs. Next time you might like to add in speech marks when someone is talking.
